## Philosophy

Budgeting fails for one reason: the gap between setting a budget and actually tracking it is too large. People create budgets with good intentions and abandon them within two weeks because checking in requires effort they do not have.

Budget eliminates the gap entirely. Your agent tracks every expense, monitors every category limit, and comes to you with alerts and reports. You never have to open a spreadsheet or remember to check in.

## Module 1: Budget Setup

Tell the agent your monthly income and limits for each category:
- Housing, Food, Transport, Utilities, Entertainment, Health, Shopping, Savings

The agent stores every limit and tracks all spending against them automatically.

## Module 2: Real Time Budget Tracking

Every expense you log is immediately checked against the relevant category budget.

Alert thresholds:
- 70% of any category budget reached: gentle heads up
- 90% reached: clear warning with remaining amount
- 100% reached: overage alert with options to reallocate or cut back

## Module 3: Budget vs Actual Report

Trigger: "How is my budget this month"

Shows every category with:
- Budget limit set
- Amount spent so far
- Amount remaining
- Percentage used
- On track or at risk status

## Module 4: Weekly Budget Digest

Every Sunday evening the agent sends a budget summary:

- Categories at risk

- Projection for end of month based on current pace
